Heffy Doodle Stamps and Chibitronics Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends,

today it is blog hop time again! And I'm so super excited, that this time Chibitronics is collaborating with Heffy Doodle Stamps
Lesley, the owner of Heffy Doodle is a long time team member from Chibitronics. She is always so fun and always comes up with great card ideas and tutorial.
Now, let's check up the blog hop!

For today I've created this underwater scene using the fun Oceans of Love Stamp Set. I already had this card idea in my mind as I started creating. I don't know where it came from, but for me there were definitely no other option as to create the card like this.

So I started with coloring all the images and fuzzy cut them. I arranged them on the card panel, which I cut out using my Wonky Stitched dies from My Favorite Things. Then I ink blendet the background using my Distress Inks chipped sapphire, broken china and tumbled glass. The sun rays were created out of little strips of washi tape. I guess I need to buy a stencil with sun reys. They brought the scene to life. Then I sprinkled some water drops over the card panel so the distress inks could react.
The sentiment fit perfectly in the middle of this circle. So I stamped the sentiment and the little hearts using Vermark ink and WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder and heat set it. I cut out the heart images using a craft knife.

Then I started to create my circuit:

  • draw in where the LEDs will be. In my case behind the hearts.
  • draw in where the battery will be. In my case I used the middle of the card, behind the sentiment
  • created a switch for the battery and connected the batterys positiv side with the LEDs positive side and connecting the negative to the negative side. This time I didn't create a tutorial. But this is a simple parallel circuit. You can find some instructions over at my YouTube Channel.
  • now tape the LEDs and the battery on the card and the light up part is all finished.

To finish the card I taped some vellum behind the open heart spaces. The LEDs, even they are tiny, they shine really bright. On the back of the card panel I create a frame using three layers of foam tape, so I have enough space so the switch doesn't always touches the battery. Now I can tape all my under water images on the card. I also covered the images with my Sparkle Pen. Then the card is all finished.

Charge Me Uo: Light Up Card Making Kit - Lawn Fawn and Chibitronics

Hello crafty friends,

I´m so really happy to be part of this amazing collaboration between Chibitronics and Lawn Fawn! They teamed to create a kit that includes everything for two interactive cards. Templates, stamp set, coordinating dies, LEDs, coppertape, batteries, as well as patterned paper to create kind of card you want.

Charge Me Up: Light Up Card Making Kit with Lawn Fawn

The idea for my card came definitely from the stamp set. The circuit is pretty simple to create, especially when you have the great templates that my friend Eiko from the Chibitronics design team created for you. I wanted the background to match with the set, so I had the idea to use the copper tape to create the fancy background.

In case you are interested in how I created my card, there is a full video tutorial over on my YouTube channel.

This was it for today. Please don't forget to watch all the creations from the Chibitronics and Lawn Fawn design team. There are some great samples!

Lawn Fawn is also giving away one Kit each day of the hop. Head over there to read more about the conditions!

I hope you enjoyed the charge me up kit with Lawn Fawn and until the next time I hope you have a wonderful day.
