Chibitronics and Studio Katia Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends,

today I´m here to show you a card for the first day of Chibitronics and Studio Katia collaboration blog hop. I´ve used the thank you so much bundle from Studio Katia and Chibitronics Starter Kit to create an indirect lighting behind the flowers.

For a long time I´ve been wanting to create such a card, but I didn't have the right stamp for. But know I had and I love how it turned out. I love flowers, but for me they don´t light up. So I had this idea of creating an indirect lightning. But first of all let´s start with the card itself.

This card is pretty easy and came together really quick. I stamped the flowers image with Versamark ink on Bristol paper and used gold embossing powder. I wanted this card to be very golden. I don't know why, but I had this idea in my mind and I don't know where it came from. To color the flowers I used my Zig Real Color Brush Pen (color light carmine) and a watercolor brush to blend the markers out. The flower were die cut from the coordinating dies and I die cut the sentiment "Thank You" four times from white card stock. The last layer were also heat embossed, because I wanted to have the same gold color everywhere and I wanted it to look like a big bold embellishment. The blue card panel were die cut from the biggest Dotted Oval Die  and the endges dipped into Versamark ink and also heat embossed. To create my striped background I simply used some Post It Tape, my Versamark ink and the gold embossing powder. I rounded my edges with a corner rounder. At the end, when the card was put together I sprinkled the Sparkly Crystals Mix over the card. I find it so pretty when the light catches them.

But know the part in where I put the circuit together. It was really easy, as the card itself isn´t that complicated. The only difficulty I find, was the dimension of the card, as I didn't want the card to appear that bulky. The blue layer has two layers of Foamtape and a whole in which the battery has his space. The flower has another layer, so the card has in total three layers of foam tape. But as there are different dimensions the card doesn't appear bulky. The rest of the LED circuit is not complicated. This card here is just an extra special for you. It doesn't lights up, but could be made as a light up card as well and with the same mechanism. It is a shaker card and I stamped the image on the acetate.

Chibitronics and Newtons Nook Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello friends, 

today is a very special day. I´m part of Newton´s Nook and Chibitronics collaboration Blog Hop. Since monday both design teams are showcasing their projects. For my projects I´ve used the holiday smooches Stamp set and the Chibitronics Starter Kit.

This set of three cards is pretty much clean and simple. Normally my cards are very complex, but this time I wanted to focus on the kissing couples. This is why the lightning is in the background. I had this idea in my mind with the couples in a cold night sky. And I´m really happy how the cards turned out. Creating this card was really easy; I´ll give you here a little instruction. If you want to know more please watch the video I´ve created for you!

Instructions:

Disclaimer: All supplies I´ve used are listend and linked below this blog post!

• Stamp images (from Holiday Smooches stamp set) on white paper using an alcohol friendly ink and color the images with Copic Marker. Subsequently fuzzy cut the image
• Create the background: I´ve used the Gansei Tambi watercolors on Bristol paper. I applied the color doing swirly motions with my paint brush. I did a second layer and let the first layer dry before applying the second. At the and I flicked white paint on top of the background to create the stars
• Die cut the background using a circle die. And die cut a circle which is one number smaller from the card panel. This step isn´t needed but I liked it to hide the thickness of the card.
• Poke wholes in the night sky background where the light will shine trough. Then dray on the card base where the LED will be. 
• Create the circuit using copper tape, battery and the LED (all included in the Chibitronics Starter Kit)
• Put the card together using different layers of foam tape. Behind the night sky background is a tripple layer; behind my card panel is one layer; between card panel and background is a double layer
• Heat set the sentiment: stamp the sentiment using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder on a black strip of cardstock.
• Apply a note on the card, so the recipient will now what to do so the light will shine. I´ve used the push here stamp set from Lawn Fawn. 
• Finish the card scattering some sequins over the card
• Now the card is all. Happy shining :)

Slide Switch LED Card - Create a Smile Stamps Comeback Party!

Hello everyone,

I´m today over at the Create a Smile Stamps Blog to show you a light up card using some stamps from the new release and the Chibitronics Starter Kit. 

When I first saw the lampion Sets I knew I had to use it for a card that lights up. Long time ago I saw Jessica creating a card with a slider switch and I wanted to recreate it. This was the perfect opinion. 

Instructions:

• Stamp the mole with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Copic friendly paper and color him in. I used E42, E44, E82 and E84 and  for the glasses I used B000 and the glas frame R39. Then fuzzy cut the image. 
• Stamp all the lampion images on your panel in the way you want it to look like later. Then cut the lampions out and ink the panel and the grassy border in using distress inks (chipped saphire, mowed lawn, twisted citron) and distress oxides inks (wilted violet, faded jeans, broken china). At the end just spritz with some glitter spritz over the panel, so it would have a nice shine. 
• Emboss the lampions on vellum and the sentiment in the card panel. And glue the lampions behind the cut part from the card panel. 
• You have to create the circuit on the card base. It is a little bit hard to explain written but in the video it is explained in German and linked to the video from Jessica, who explained in English. 
• To finish the card put everything together and give it a little finishing touch using sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. 

Tipps & Tricks: 

Creating LED cards can be tricky sometimes especially when the circuits are a bit complicated. It is helpful the create a sketch before making the card.

Light-up Unicorns

Hallo ihr Lieben,

lange nicht mehr gesehen. Ich weiß, aber heute bin ich zurück mit einer magischen Karte. Wort wörtlich ;) Ich habe eine Einhorn-Leuchte-Karte für euch. Hierzu habe ich die magical Unicorns von My Favorite Things verwendet und das LED System von Chibitronics. Dazu habe ich euch eine Video-Anleitung gemacht. Auf deutsch, mit englischen Untertitel, irgendwie wollte ich es so vielen wie möglich recht machen. Ich hoffe ihr könnt in meinem Video auch von meinen Fehlern lernen, und fühlt euch bestärkt eigene leuchte Karten zu basteln. Leider wird es auch noch eine kleine Weile dauern, bis es wieder was neues von mir gibt, da wir nächste Woche umziehen und mein Bastelzimmer quasi nicht mehr existent ist. I know, long time no see. But today I´m back with a literally magical unicorn cards. The card is a unicorn-light up-card. I used the magical unicorns from My Favorite Things and the Chibitronics lightning system. I also created a video tutorial for you. This time it is a german one but with english subtitle. I hope to make it right for most of you. For the next time there will be also poor posting here, as we are moving next week and my craft room is unmounted at the moment. Lawn Fawn And Chibitronics Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello friends, 

today I´m back with a project for the Lawn Fawn and Chibitronics collaboration blog hop. here for I decided to use my out of this world stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I already found this set great to create a card in a box card, as I wanted to let the planets look like they are floating in the space. But I also had the idea of making a card in a box lightens up. This is how this card came together.  

First I stamped my images with my Memento Tuxedo black ink on whisper white paper from Stampin up as I was planning to use my Copic markers. In case you are interested in the color combination I´m using please watch my video ; ) After all the images have been colored I fuzzy cut them at trace the edges with my Memento marker, so there wouldn't be a white border in case I missed something to fuzzy cut.

Then  I created my pop-up box card. My box has german dimensions, so it would fit perfectly in a german C6 envelope. I created a separate video on this as I thought that the video would be to long. I wanted to focus on the stamps and the lightning system from Chibitronics. Lawn Fawn sells a great scallop box pop-up card die, so you don't even need to think about measurements. But here you can find the measurements, in case you missed in the video. All you need: 

1st piece: 10.5cm x 20cm
- long side score at 5cm, 15cm
- short side score at 5.5cm

2nd piece: 12cm x 10.5cm
- long side score at 1cm, 11cm

3rd piece: 12cm x 10.5cm
- long side score at 1cm, 11cm

- short side cut in three pieces

The next step is to create the galaxy background. I simply used my Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks and applied them to the paper. I really blended them well, so it really would look like a galaxy. But without stars, a galaxy never would look like a galaxy. I used my white and silver colors from the Gansai Tambi watercolor palette and created some splatters all over the background. Now it really looks like a galaxy. 

After finishing the background I created my circuit to make the box light up. I want to make sure to create the circuit before I put the card together. It makes everything really easy and isn't a big difference compared to normal light up cards. In the video you can see how easy it is to create the box. I used copper tape, a 3V battery and white LEDs from Chibitronic. Only using this system makes it possible to bring interactive cards to another level. They always work and you don't need to worry about the LEDs lighten up. After finishing my lightning system and the box I can start to decorate the box panels. I used some acetate stripes to make the planets float.

Pull Tab Slider LED Card- Chibitronics Design Team Announcement

Hallo ihr Lieben,

heute ist es endlich so weit- ich darf euch mitteilen, dass ich für ein Jahr im Chibitronics Design Team bin. In Zukunft werdet ihr also ganz viele Tutorials zu LED Karten finden. Hauptsächlich will ich versuchen LED Karten auf das nächste Level zu bringen. Das ist nur möglich, wenn die Leitungen stabil sind, was bei den LED Karten mit SMD LEDs nicht der Fall ist. Das Chibitronics LED System ist so einfach, dass es wirklich JEDER hinbekommen! und auch noch schnell geht. Lasst euch also überraschen,wass in Zukunft alles kommen wird: Popup Karten, Schüttelkarten, Kartenboxen, und vieles mehr.

now it is official: I´m allowed to tell you, that I´m party of the Chibitronics design team. The term is for one year. So be prepared for lots of LED card tutorials. I want to challenge my self in the future with creating next level LED cards. So be prepared for pop up cards, shaker cards, card boxes and so on... These type of cards is only possible when the connection is stabile and it isn't with SMD LEDs. The Chibitronics LED system is the most easiest way of making LED cards and it guarantees lots of fun and everybody will be able to create the card and it is also the fastest way.

Heute fangen wir aber langsam an, ich zeige euch erst mal, wie man eine Pull Tab Slider Karte bastelt. Ich werde nicht viel zu der Karte sagen (können), das meiste muss man einfach im Video gesehen haben ; )

But today I want to start slow ;) and I want to show you a pull tab slider card. I´m not going to tell you lots of things now, because it is the easiest way to learn while watching.

Card for you - Zig Real Color Brush Pens - Warum sie gut sind

Hallo ihr Lieben,

heute bin ich zurück mit dieser floralen Karten, die sich auch perfekt für den Muttertag eignet. Diese Karte wurde inspiriert von Yana Smakula. Diese Karte habe ich auf Bristolkarton von Folia mit meinen Zig Real Color Brush Pens gemalt. In dem Video erzähle ich euch einiges über die Stifte. Unter anderem zeige ich euch, wie ich sie verwende, gleichzeitig habe ich noch ein Video zur lieben Birka verlinkt, in dem sie euch zeigt was alles möglich ist. Außerdem erzähle ich euch ein paar der Vorteile, da ich oft gefragt werde, ob man Copics und Zigs vergleichen kann, und welches der beiden besser ist.

man benötigt weniger Stifte, da man mit Wasser verblenden kann		man benötigt mehr Stifte, um besser verblenden zu können. Ich würde vorschlagen 2-3 Stifte pro Farbfamilie.
deshalb ist die Anschaffung zu Beginn auch günstiger		deshalb die Anschaffung etwas teurer  ist
Kosten: es gibt 4er, 6er, 12er, 24er, 48er, 60er und 80er Packungen. Die Stifte gibt es auch einzeln, da sind die Stifte natürlich teurer. Den Kauf der Multipacks empfehle ich bei Amazon. Ich habe mit dem 24er Pack angefangen. Dann hatte ich den 48er und nun den 60er. Mehr brauche ich auch (noch) nicht ;)		Kosten: hier lohnt es sich nicht Packungen zu kaufen, da der pro Stift Preis nicht günstiger wird. Ich empfehle es die Stifte im Zeichencenter Ebeling zu kaufen. Dort müsst ihr euch im Copic-Club anmelden (kostet 1€ im Jahr), dafür bekommt ihr aber super Staffelpreise. Alternativ bei Cultpens. Dort ist allerdings Versand aus England.
Man muss nicht viel vom Malen verstehen, der Hell-Dunkel-Kontrast entsteht durch da Verblenden mit Wasser fast automatisch. Man muss sich vor dem Kaufen nicht viele Gedanken machen		Da man mit mehreren Stiften verblenden muss, sollte man sich vorher genau erkundigen, welche Stifte gut zueinander passen, und welche nicht. Hierzu kann ich nur die Hex-Chart von Sandy Allnock empfehlen. Im Allgemeinen sind die Vorbereitungen vor dem Kauf nur wärmstens zu empfehlen.
Das Malen mit Wasserbasierten Medien verzeiht einem eher Fehler		Man sollte sich damit auseinander setzen, wie die Stifte sich verblenden und Fehler werden nicht so schnell verziehen

Eigentlich habe ich nicht viel über die Karte selbst zu sagen. Ich schlage vor, dass ihr euch das Video anschaut. Dort kann man am besten sehen was ich genau gemacht habe. Wie immer hoffe ich, dass euch mein Beitrag, und die Karte gefallen haben und wir sehen uns das nächste Mal wieder.
